leaking spinal fluids

my father had back surgery a while back now at the lower part of his back above his crack is a little whole and it is leaking fluids from his spine.  he hasent went back to the doctor yet.  he can barley walk he walks humped over like a old man.  what is going on and what will the doctors have to do to fix the problem?  if my father doesent go to the doctor what can happen to him?

If there is an active leak of the CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) it will likely require a return trip to the operating room to repair.  A new MRI or a myelogram may be needed to better sort it out.  If he does not go back to the doctor then he may risk developing an infection in the spinal cord which is very dangerous.  I would advise returning to the surgeon asap.
Good luck
