I picked up that ammended report yesterday and it mimics the 2005 MRI, I am planning on getting a 2nd opinion on that, I have a disc with the films on it.
Thanks!
You should also get copies of the MRI films! They will be available for you at your request although the hospital might charge a small fee for the copying. HIPPA rules provide for you to obtain all medical records (not just the transcribed report).
I am not sure why the radiologist would not read the films accurately even if there was no life-threatening emergency. It's his license on the line ----
Utilize the advocate to get another opinion and have another radiologist review the films.
Good luck!
Ive got ruptures, specifically where- i dunno- there are several and start at top and end at bottom, lol. Painful yes! Until recently I had no insurance and getting a MRI for a newer version from 2005 was hard, I managed to make the ER do it, and (remember im in WV-they just dont care here) the radiologist had no idea of the 2005 MRI- his reading was clear- no degenerative changes - I called patient advocate, and as of yesterday after viewing the old MRI report he ammended his- is this legal- i dunno- but he mimic'd my 2005 MRI - Im picking it up today. So if there are changes, my body says there are- I wont know for a long time again. He didnt read my MRI the advocate said because it was requested by the emergency room and he saw no life threatening emergency.????
I've got ruptured L3-L5 discs and my xray showed my tailbone about 2 cm to the left from my SI joint down. I've gotten so fat from forced inactivity, and I can actually see my belly listing to the left. I don't think its your imagination.
Good luck.
