So much pain I am on the virge of slicing my back open.

In 2007 I had a MRI that said that I had an annular tear in my L5 disc.  I would have pain associated with this wear rest would actually help it.  About 2 weeks I was working and moving a box and I sort of twisted and felt and heard a pop in my back that stunned me.  I thought at first I just might Have pulled a muscle.  So I just rested, but then my toes started going numb, sitll numb, and my foot is tingley as well as my lower right part of my leg.  As well as some pain in my right leg and buttocks.  With even some sever pain in my lower back.  When I bend forward, that actually use to make it feel better, now I can hardly come back up.  And when I do I have this odd feeling in my head as well in my legs that they are about to give out.  I am very off balance, I can hardly hold my self up.  I am actually getting nasuias with the pain.  It hurts in my back to sit, my legs feel so week and heavy rubber band like and I am stumbling and falling all over.  Anyways I went to the ER because well I don't have insurance, Doctor said that It was probably my siatica and that I could have herniated my disc, but they couldn't do a soft tissue scan because they don't have that available.  And a regular xray wouldn't show anything, They gave me some predizone and loratab and said to take it with Motrin.  I have been doing all of this, along with resting when I can, no added walking or whatever I do  a heck of a lot of that at work.  I am stretching.  And I am actually at my wits end.  That I am on the virge of crying and want to slice my back or something so that it will hurt somewhere else, and maybe I wont feel this.  I don't know what to do?

The Vick's can sometimes help with such things as muscle aches, nerve pains, arthritis, a cold in the muscle, etc.  Give it a try and see if it helps at all.

I have been using heat, and It hurts to bad to use ice, but I have tried it.  As for as the creams, that is one thing I haven't tried.  I just figured since it isn't a muscle ache, that it wouldn't help.

Have you tried applying ice or heat to it?  It is possible that one of those or alternating them would help a bit.  Or, you might try applying VICK's vapor rub.  Sometimes it helps with things like this.
