Lots of "doctor speak" but I can kinda understand some of it. I had a car accident in 2001 and I fractured my L4, I had a partial disc extrusion between L5 and L4 (they told me its almost completely back to where it should be) and I have two spinal cyst that look like lava blobs to me in my MRI pictures. One blob is from L1 to L3 and the other is L2 to L3.
I was in a back brace for 3 months and have had numerous MRIs to see if the "lava blobs" are growing. Thankfully, they are not. I found that yoga, tai chi and mild stretching have done the best for my back. I don't have tingling in my toes or pain in my buttocks but I do have moderate to severe pain in my lower back more often that I wish. Luckily I don't sit much at my job because I notice my back really hurts when I sit for very long.
I hope you feel better. Also drink lots of water if you don't already. I was told by a doctor (and found research to read) that since our discs are made up of a large amount of water, drinking water keeps them hydrated well and your discs healthier.
Just got my report from the radialogist that did my MRI . Don't know much about it but here it is.. L4-5 There is a mild loss of T2 signal from the intervertebral disc and a mild loss of height consistent with a degenerative disc. There is a moderate posterior central disc extrusion. This is compressing the ventral dural sac with mass effect on the emergin L5 nerve roots bilaterally Impression Moderate posterior central disc extrusion L4-L5.
I have not seen my doctor since the mri. I have an apt in a 2 weeks.
I wish I could read MRI's well. After the many I have had I should know more...
I saw it said T2, so is it your mid-back where there is pain? If you got the MRI what has the doctor/s said? If you are having tingling in your toe and buttocks I know you should definitely see a doctor.
