C5 and C6 disc herniation

Yesterday, an MRI found a disc hernaition at c5 and c6.  The doctor said it was small, and they didnt see any compression on the nerves or spinal cord.  I was in a car accident in Nov/08.  My symptoms are as follows.  Severe pain in the back of the neck, and excruciating pain that comes and goes in the left upper arm, fatigue, during exams I get dizzy to the point of almost passing out.  The pain also will course across my chest, under the left pec.  I did not know anything about this until reading up on it today.  I am also very concerned because what Ive been reading.  I have also had liquid like stools for about 7 weeks now.  I was being treated by my regular doc for this, but now Im reading this may be related?  But as I understand, this would be result from a lower disc hernaition in the lumbar region in the lower back? They only looked at my Cspine.  The frequency of my bowel movements have not changed.  Its just diahreah. Constantly. Should I request them to look at my whole spine?  I read these bowel movement irregularities may be a sign of a medical emergency?  So Im a little worried now.  I do have what feels like a lot of pressure right above my buttocks, but not really pain as I would describe it.  The pain Im going through in my upper extremeties is some of the worst pain I have ever went through.  The doctor seems a little insensative to this.  What can I do to demand the right treatment, and diagnostics?  This is through a work-comp doctor.  Any thoughts?

Do not trust a workers comp dr. they are not there to help you. if you have trouble with your c spine it will affect every part of your body from head to toe even your bowels, your heart bladder and every thing in between and dont let them tell you different. a worker's comp. dr. works for the company, not you.  find a way to have payment made to your dr. of choice, or just go to another dr.  There are so many offices guided by mere procedures, it makes one wonder how dr.'s can even have a business, except for our needs on them!  first, don't be satisfied, go for what your instincts tell you is going on, and find a dr. who will listen, and simply forget the rest.  we are humans in pain and deserve better than what is out there sometimes...dr. care is like anything else in life, there are good procedures done for the patient care, and there are those just in it for the money!!!!  good luck....
