x-ray dye

I am allergic to shellfish, I had a bad reaction in 2000,
I have avoided shellfish. I need treatment for my back , I guess
injections, which require the xray to ensure placement of needle. Is the the same kind of contract dye used for Bone scans or is it different. I am afraid of any dye. but i need the injections.

What kind of injections are you having that will require dye?  The only dye I had was when I had a discogram.  Other than that the dye was external.  I know they sometimes use dye with an MRI.  Friday I had radiofrequency were they heat nerves until they die.  Doc said it would take 1-2 wks.  hurt and was really really sore all day.  Today better. I am praying this works, he said 70%.  Of course he said that with the other injections also.  I know it must be difficult not working and that's what keeps me from retiring.  I get depressed sitting at home and my husband is not happy with all of this and all of the work he has to do, makes one a little cranky.  Don't worry so have have faith.  Good luck

Thanks for your comments,  I also had anxiety after getting steroids injections in my heels about 3 yrs ago. So I am afraid to get the injections. I have DDD and I cannot walk much or sit long it creats too  much pain.I get shooting pain in groin, buttock pain, tailbone pain. back pain, But ss says it not not severe, not to them anyway.

I have applied for ss but been denied twice, so at my last appeal. Dont know if I will wait it out or
try to get a job. We are struggling to pay our bills.  None of my doctors really care about me, So I guess my lawyer is only one that says he can get it.

I had a shellfish allergy at one time also.  They gave me a antihistamine with the injection.  However, the iodine never affected me externally which that is where they used the iodine.  Thank God I no longer have that allergy.  Love shrimp
