Fusion, now broken screws?

Hi, I'm 15 months post-surgery for C4/5 anterior discectomy & fusion using cadaver bone, plate & screws.  I've just learned that my fusion never "took" and every one of the screws have broken (4 total).  Has anyone else had a similar experience?  Is a surgery re-do my only option for pain relief? What could cause all 4 titanium screws to break?  Thanks a million!

This is an outrage. When I'm screwing plywood onto 2x4's, the two-cent drywall screws frequently (1 in 4) broke before I got a drill with a dial clutch. Now I set the torque to match the screws I am using and - no more problem! These are $!00,000.00 surgeries. Hardware failures like these are inexcusable and tantamount to malpractice. My MD says this happens "80% of the time"(!!!!!!!) and made no comment beyond that.

I don't have an answer for you but if the screws are made from titanium they shouldn't break for I to had the same kind of neck fushion as you except I had a two teir and I to am experiencing pain but you aren't the only one with broke screws the company that. Made these screws aught to be investigated of faulty products that is causing us more harm than good. They should have to pay for another operation to correct the faulty screws
