swollen rear end after back surgery

what is it that is swollen in my butt area 3 weeks after lower back surgery?  I have very little feeling in the area, can not have regular bowel movements.  Took a fleet enema this morning, emptied that, doesnt seem to be blocked, just swollen.  There are no hemmorroids that are visible.

I'm no doctor however the first thing that came into my mind to check for is cauda equina. I hope this is not what your experiencing, I wish u well hun, keep us informed!! *hugs*

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include haematoma formation, neuro-muscular causes such as nerve damage/ pressure, growths/ masses etc. I would suggest considering a review with your treating doctor for a detailed evaluation and depending on the cause identified, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
