ok all the best seema hope you will feel better soon post again if you feel the need to
Thanks Penquin70. you are right. though not seriously somethin wrong, i feel the muscles have weaken to an extend, that even brushing somethin can invoke my pain.. and it reduces only after i rest. I have to strengthen the muscles so that it can bear my work. Otherwise the ergonomics has taken care of now. I sit and work with proper posture. I have a baby too whom i carry when at home, which also adds on to the pain. I do not have access to a chiropractor.
I agree with penquin70. The drying out of the discs can make normal movement produce discomfort. In addition to having physiotherapy to strengthen your neck, it might be advisable to request an Ergonomic evaluation from your employer. This will evaluate your workspace to determine if your chair is at the proper height, if the computer is positioned properly and provide recommendations regarding the use of your mouse, etc. Most employers are glad to provide these evaluations as they reduce the risk of work-related injuries and help their employees perform their duties with decreased risk.
Best wishes -----
Hi Seema the disks are like soft bouncy wedges between the vertebra they absorb shock and allow the vertebra to move in relation to one another when they are dehydrated they lack moisture and sometimes their height will be reduced.
You may have postural problems such as having an abnormal curvature of your spine you should try to stay relaxed and develop a good posture while on the computer. You should also try to get some sensible exercise
The physiotherapist should be able to help you strengthen your neck i don't think your doctor is right to tell you that there is nothing wrong with your neck its not the worst thing that can be wrong with your neck but it is still not good do you have access to a chiropractor
