Marrow Signal

After having an MRI on my neck and mid-thoracic back due to an injury years ago, I was told that my marrow signal is heterogeneous. Can you please tell me what this means?

Hi

I sustained two stage two whiplash in a one year period.  I have arthritis in my c5-c6 of my spine.  I know they did x-rays of my cervical spine, thoracic spine.  They were more concerned about my neck.  I  also had a MRI of the same area but it just showed mulitple levels of arthritis.  So I try to keep active and do exercises.

Hi,
Thanks for writing. I looked that up also. If you were told the same thing, did they tell you what might be causing it? Or what to do or not do? Hope you aren't hurting alot! or at all !!!

Hi abuela959

I just went through what you something similar to you except   I had a MRI of  my neck and cervical spine due to accident.  I can tell you the word Heterogeneous means:

Of unlike natures, composed of unlike substances.

I double check in my medical dictonary.  Hope this answers your question
