Frank and all Syndol addicts. You have all my sympathy. My 77 yr old mother was secretly addicted to Syndol till she dehydrated and turned blue around her lips. She was hospitalised and tests revealed that she had asthma and emphysema. She decided right then and there to give up her Syndol and tobacco addictions - cold turkey. Very brave - but then came the suffering with the withdrawal symptoms. I called her GP in desperation and was told to be patient the symptoms would continue for two weeks. Sorry for the bad news, but the two weeks went on to become two years of hell!! For me too.
You're in for a rough ride when you quit - but you don't have a choice - just use every once of willpower in your mind and body and hang in there - there are so many addicts that will be all too keen to support you. And for what its worth - keep in touch - I've helped one person through it - I'm willing to try again!
Thank You for your replies.
I suggest you find someone to teach you the Anderson technique. I have had similar problems and have find relief via Anderson.
I think you may have posted in the wrong forum because this is less about your neck and more about your addiction to OTC drugs.
Syndol is Codeine and Paracetemol and as such, it does carry some slight risk of addiction - codeine is addictive, especially if you are taking that number every day. Paracetemol over time can damage your liver.
All in all, it would be a very good idea to reduce your intake and in fact to discuss with your doctor another route to take regarding your pain as 5 years is far too long to have unresolved issues, especially at your age!
