SEARING PAIN IN LEFT BUTT CHEEK

Has gotten progressively worse over the past 3 days ~ discomfort started 5 days ago.  Now, I can hardly walk, the pain is excruciating when I walk a few feet.  Interesting, if I bend over in walking, pain is less severe but my left leg feels very weak.  Going up & down stairs, I experience very little pain ~ sitting, I experience no pain.  Lying down, I have no pain.  Tonight, I feel the muscle behind my right knee and into my right butt cheek is very tight and uncomfortable.

At first, I thought perhaps sciatica, but I have no pain when sitting or lying in bed.  Truly, I am walking like the Hunchback of Notre Dame to avoid the excruciating pain... Still very painful, though.

Any ideas?  Should I see my primary doctor, because the back ortho Doctor I can't get in to see until late August!
