Neck fusion surgery

I had neck fusion surgery on Wednesday.  The issue I am dealing with is the allergic reaction to the type of dressing placed on my wound.  I am allergic to liquid ahesive and told them not to use any.  What they used was a gauze pad and a plastic barrier.  Despite my telling them that I was reacting to this covering they told me it wasn't Once nurse said it was the narcotic.  I proved they were wrong when I really couldn't stand the discomfort and went to my own doctor.  She took the cover off and used a gauze pad and coban.
Everyone has been really concerned about infection.  I have the sores from the reaction.  Also, I do have the open wound.  Why in the first place wouldn't they want to stitch the inscision closed?  Here I am suppose to go 2 weeks the way I am now.
What should I do?

How come you had to have 4 fusions?  I appreciate you saying that you had a allergic reaction.  I sure couldn't convince anyone in the hospital that I need to get the covering off.  The blisters are so itchy tonight.  They put the fear into me about the high risk of getting infection in the incision.  I am more bugged by the whole thing because it took my hometown doctor to provide me the relief I needed.

On my fusion it was stiched and I have had 4.  I had allergic reaction to the first covering and the nurse noticed and put something else on. I used some creme and it went away in a day or so.  I forgot the name of the creme I know I got it from the doctor
