bruised tailbone

752
I fell on my tailbone 7 days ago. I had put ice on it right away and have been using heat  two times a day.
The problem is that I am a distance runner for the last 30 years,6 miles a day. I only didn't run on the first day
I have been running every day since at a slower speed and a little less distance however I am in pain pretty
much throughout. My question is simple How can I continue to run through this injury?
p.s. i have not seen a doctor

Hi...I hurt my tailbone 2 yrs ago and am still having pain...hard chairs r a big nono....even soft chairs I have to re-situate myself....I remember I could barely walk when I first did it.....I do have other conditions that may add to the problem...but I know at least for me it was very slow to heal...and never went away.

I know how you feel - I use to be a runner and now I'm doing good to walk. I really, really miss it. I know how it feels to not be able to run and I know you want to run through this injury. My only thought is to maybe try to shorten your stride? Good luck and keep running!
