Laminectomy

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis over 3 years ago and had a laminectomy 2 years which helped for about 4 months  i have also had 3 sessions of 6 injections and next month im  having a epidural to help with the pain  . I am on 4 different types of pain relief and also done intense physio and nothing seems to help infact the pain is getting worse and the symptoms seem to be coming back. Is there anything anybody can suggest ??? .....

Thank you

Lynsey

Sorry tto hear hun .. Hope you get a reply soon from the Dr. Alot of people have said once you have one opperation then things can get worse, i just hoped i could prove this phrase wrong .. hmm n i was wrong . The more my problem is looked at the more i hear you will probably have to have another opperation. As much as i hate the idea of this i also at the moment would give anything to have just one day without pain.
I hope you find  out what is wrong soon hun ... keep me uyp to date

hugsss

Hi lyns, I'm in fact NOT better lol. Over two weeks ago, I began to get this "popping/twang" I thought was comming from my fusion site when I move. It is associated with a sharp, piercing pain of which lasts about 30 seconds then dimishes into an "inflammed ache". I thought it was comming from my fusion site until today. I now know its comming from my tailbone area. Then it shoots up into my l5/s1 fusion area. Called and left msg with dr. Anyway, hope ur pain gets taken care of, plz keep me informed!!!! *hugs* take care:)

I have not had a MRI since b4 the op . I got really fed up and depressed  with the whole thing i have put a complaint in to the NHS as yet another appointment was canceled for pain relief . So while i was on the phone to them i also said about no one actually looking into why the pain and other effects are getting worse so they are writing to  a consultant to see why this has not been done . Im glad you are getting better and im sure in time the pain in the back will ease as time has to be allowed for the muscle's to lose the swelling inside .
Hugss and i will keep you informed as and when anything is done .

Have u had a recent mri just to check what maybe going on inside? I'm sorry things got worse!! I'm 5 weeks post op from open back fusion surgery with instrumentation. Things are goin good, neurological deficits in my legs seem to have corrected themselves, just wish back pain would subside lol. Get different opinions and keep me posted on how ur doing. *hugs*
