lower back/hip popping

After glancing through this site I figure odds are good someone else is going through the same thing...
After failing the "Thomas test" and describing my high inner hamstring pain and hip (left) soreness, the diagnosis was that I was misaligned and needed PT.  I've been going for a while now and I still struggle with the occasional hamstring pain.  More importantly (and annoying) are LOUD pops I'll get when standing up from sitting, lifting my leg while stepping up or stepping down from something, or moving to the side from a standing position.  I raised these concerns with my therapist and he told me that I should look into yoga or pilates to strengthen my core.  In addition to the pops though, my left lower back (sacrum area?) will lock up when I'm exercise walking or running.  Makes it very difficult to maintain a constant stride and eventually starts hurting.  Is anyone else going through this?  I've gone to so many orthopedic drs. and therapists...praying someone has some insight!  Thanks!

Although most people and ALL Dr's will tell you no...you need to see a good Chiropractor. My back and overall health turned 360 degrees once I saw a good chiro. Not just a relief one, but a corrective one. One that just doesn't go in and pop things around but shows you what is going on and and works his way up. I was scared to death at first, but he has been amazing. Everyone that I know that goes to a good chiro goes to them forever, they love them. It is wroth a try. Bu do not look to your DR to recommend you to one.....they never do.

Thanks so much.  You're right - if there's one thing this process has taught me, it's that you have to be your own advocate for issues like this....thanks for the response.  This whole experience has been frustrating, but it helps to know that others out there are going through the same thing.
