Herniation related? Yes. If you don't have a recent MRI you might want to get a new one to see if you have an extrusion. That's where the inside of the disc leaks out the tear & presses on the spinal cord or the nerve root. If that's the case then a steroid epidural would be a good idea since you have loss of motor function. The best thing to do is to try to relieve the pressure that's caused by daily activities & reduce the inflammation. I would start taking Alieve. It's also possible that you have a trapped nerve. You may have compensated for the injury somehow and a nerve is trapped in soft tissue swelling or tightness. & Compartment Syndrome can cause this as well. Hope this helps. kimpton
