neck pain/upper back

I fell down some stairs 4 days ago.  I went to urgent care & they took xrays.  Spine looks great, but couldn't explain why I have my symptoms.  My neck is sore with sharp pains in my neck and upper back every now and them.  My most important question is: every now and then I feel like I've been punched in the throat or chest making it difficult to catch my breath.  I also get the pain in my neck.  The dr. at Urgent care had no response.  Just gave my Motrin 800 & a muscle relaxer.  Please please give me some anwers.  Thanks!

have you seen your doctor for follow up?  Sounds like you might need an MRI things will show up on the MRI that do not show up on plain XRay's. Sounds like some inflamation that is causing nerve issues.  Depending on the nerve or nerve that is pinched is where you will experience the pain.  Your sounds like C4-7 area.  But I am not a doctor.  I would suggest following up and explaining your symptoms and what helps or aggrevates them.

Perhaps there is some inflammation that occured after you had seen the the urgenct care doctor. Sometimes it takes time for inflammation to occur after a fall. Maybe it takes time for the Motrin to work?
