Yes, compromise of the neural foramina can compress the exiting nerve roots at L4-5 and cause pain in the rear, hip and down the leg. And facet arthropathy can cause low back pain that is worse with twisting or extension. Does any of this sound like what you're dealing with?
Can this cause sever back pain? How about compromise bilateral inferior L4 & L5 neural foramina due to spondyloctic changes as described. Mild hypertrophy of left L5 - S-1 facet joint. No HNP and spinal stenosis at the remaining lumbar levels.
