Back pain accompanied by mucus from anus

Hi, I'm a 29 year old male. I have a lower back pain that comes and goes. It is accompanied by this gross smelly mucus that leaks out my anus. My stools also at very thick and damage my anus only when I get back pain. My diet stays the same and I drink plenty of water.  I have gone to many Doctor's and They stick there finger up my butt and say everything seems fine.  I've gotten blood tests done and stool sample with nothing irregular showing up.  This mucus is very embarrassing and its very uncomfortable when i pass stools. My stools are back to normal now, but my anus still stings when i pass a stool.  I have heard about possible nerve damage from back injuries causing the digestive system not to work properly.  not once has anyone recommended an MRI.  Any thoughts on where this mucus could be coming from and how i can stop it?  Mucus usually means something is infected, correct?

Don't give up hope yet -- the blood tests may reveal a reason for an MRI or colonoscopy.

Doctors move slowly -- one step at a time. It's the only way to determine what's really going on with you.

Just got back from the Dr.  He had me get blood tests done and everything was normal.  I asked about an MRI and he said that there is no connection to my back and those problems.  So he said no to an MRI.  It's just be nice to see what's wrong with my back exactly too.  It's been off and on for 6 years but no one seems interested in helping.

The mucus can happen with constipation.
It sounds like you may have hemorrhoids and those can cause pain and burning. Usually a Dr can feel them during an exam. If they're higher up though he may not have been able to feel them.
Have they mentioned getting a colonoscopy?  You may want to talk to your Dr about this and getting an MRI done. If it were me, I would go for the MRI first. You're right. If there are problems with the back it can cause other problems in the body.
