If you are breastfeeding, the combo pills are not an option for you. The only options you have, as a breastfeeding mom, are the progestin only options. Such as the mini pill, Mirena or Paraguard IUD, depo shot. I'm not familiar with nexplanon so I don't know if that has progestin only or if it's combination.
Keep in mind that after having been pregnant and going through the trauma of childbirth, plus currently breastfeeding, your hormones are all over the place and it's going to take months to calm everything down to normal levels again. While I can appreciate the need for birth control after having a baby (cause they say you're very fertile right afterward), just keep in mind that any side effects you have after starting a new birth control method will be far worse than they would be for a woman who has not recently been pregnant.
Well I have my 6 week appointment tomorrow an I am breastfeeding . I was really leaning towards the pill And started reading that there is a combonation one or something like that and one that is just one hormone which one is better?
Do you plan on breast feeding? If so that really narrows down what birth controls you can take, most of them will dry up your Breastmilk, I'm taking the pills and they're working good for me, I set an alarm on my phone every day to take them
I had birth control pills for 3 years and never had a problem with it.
I would really apreciate any advice ladies
What about pills? Have you tried them? I'm just not very educated when it comes to bc lol. the only one I've tried is mirena..
I had really bad effects with that birth control! I bled for 3 months straight gained weight and had to get it taken out. It made me feel like I had pms 24/7
