Mirena link with Optic Neuritis?

Hi all,
This is my first time posting on a forum like this but I'm hoping someone may be able to help, as I've read a couple of related conversations.  I had Mirena inserted 2 months ago and about a month ago I started having pain and blurred vision in my left eye.  I eventually went ER as my vision was nearly gone.  My diagnosis was optic neuritis, which is often linked with MS, but after 2 MRIs and a spinal tap they found no evidence of MS.  So steroid treatment and waiting was the plan.  Finished steroids, and vision started getting worse again, so now I'm on round 2.  I can't help by think this might be related to the Mirena as that is the only thing that changed in my life around the same time.  Anyone else experienced anything similar?
Thanks so much!
