Other methods for heavy cycle

I was recently put on the pill because of my heavy periods and small fibroids..My side effects bothered me so I stopped taking them. Now I have an abnormal mammo test. Besides the pill what can I take for my heavy periods. I'm 38 and this was my first time ever being on the bill

I did not have fibroids but did have Endrometrous and heavy bleeding, I got Depro shots to help with pain and heavy bleeding but they gave me 3 times as much as they normally give.  I eventually ended up having everything but my ovaries removed. But the depro shots at least got me through having two kids.  before I had to be extreme. Try not to stress to much on the mammo test every time I go they question mine because I have what they call fibrous  breast/Dense Breast. And it always comes out good in the end. Lets us know how you are doing if you have any other questions. God be with you!!

Hi there

You didn't say if you had children already or if you wanted more?
I had heavy periods also and had hydro thermal ablation four years ago . Since then my periods were none existant for a year and thereafter just spotting for a couple of days each month using panty liners lol

After having this done you are not allowed to get pregnant.

I assume because of the fibroids you were not offered this but maybe they can operate to remove the fibroids first?

Also there are many different types of contraceptive pills . The first ones I took gave me terrible headaches and when I changed to a different one they were fine.

The test you say is abnormal is that a mammogram? I thought you had to be 50 to have one or older so wasn't sure if that was what you meant? Well good luck with that and I hope whatever it is they found is not life threatening .

Please post again to say how you got on and what you decided to do.
Good luck
x
Hope this helps
