STERILIZATION/BIRTH CONTROL OPTIONS FOR OLDER WOMEN

I am 39 years old and have been on the bill for about 22 of those years.  Some were the regular pills comtaining estrogen/progesten, the Depo-shot and now I am on Lutera which is the lowest type of hormone pill you can get.

A recent study shows not only does long term use of the "pill" cause stroke, heart disease, etc. but it has now come to the attention that it now elevates your chances of breast cancer, liver disease and diseases of the digestive system.

I an childless by choice and recently married.  My husband refuses to get a vasectomy and therefore, I will have to determine the best choice for me.  I have heard of new procedure of getting your tubes 'tied' (Tubal Ligation) and procedures such as removing your fallopian tubes all-together.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

You might want to consider a copper IUD.
