Taking birth control pills from the 9th day of menstrual cycle

Hello, I have one question: I started to take birth control pills 9 days after my menstruation started (menstruation started on 3 December and I started with the pills on 12 December). If I'm going to have sex on 24-25 December will I be protected? How safe is it?
I would really appreciate your answers, thank you !

Hello,
Birth control pills are taken on the first day of menstrual periods or first Sunday ( Sunday start) after your periods start. Since you had started them after 9 days , so it will not give 100% protection and chances of pregnancy due to birth control failure are there. If you miss your periods, you should check the status of your pregnancy by serum HCG count.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
