Will birth control help with severe menstrual cramps?
I've had severe cramping, to the point where I can't even get out of bed. This has been going on for 2-3 years and I am now 19 years old. I've tried the shot but I've had drug induced lupus and it flared up my arthritis. So I'm hoping that anyone else had any luck with the pill for severe cramping?

HI,
Severe cramping during menses can be due to some underlying problem like endometriosis or infection. Hence you should consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Symptomatic treatment with painkillers, anti-spasmodics may help. Also regular taking of birth control pills may reduce pain and bleeding.
