First of all don't have unprotected sex again after you took the plan b it only works for the first 72 hours AFTER you had unprotected sex I wouldn't wait that long though take it ASAP and don't use it as regular birth control it's not good for you it's ment to be used in case of an emergency.. i had to take plan B once and it worked but I took the pill ASAP

Plan B is not 100%. And if you took it U most likely don't want to get prego, so I wouldn't think it's worth the risk. The pill doesn't necessarily work 5 days after taking it either. U have to be on it for an extended amount of time & be taken regularly for it to be effective. I've known plenty of people to get prego even on the pill & taking Plan B. I've taken it but as specialmom said it is to be taken w/in 72 hrs (I always say 48hrs) but there's a chance it won't work.

In reading your comment, I do want to say that it is not wise to use Plan B prophylactically .  You have a big dose of hormones so in theory, it would be hard to get pregnant, but I wouldn't count on that.  I'd use a condom.  good luck (oh, and yes, condoms do have a fail rate as does all birth control.  But it's still important to use religiously when you don't want to get pregnant).  good luck sweetie

I think Plan B is pretty effective by the way.  Just make sure to time it well if you take it---  no longer than 72 hours after the unprotected intercourse.

Now, again, I want to mention that Plan B is for the big OOPS moments and you don't want to use that all the time.  So, do think about what kind of birth control you want to use on a regular basis.  good luck dear

Hi there.  Plan B should work if you had sex and then took the medication.  It is a big dose of hormones meant to upset things so a pregnancy doesn't happen.  the time frame to take it is within 72 hours of unprotected sex.  I'm glad that women have this option to help keep them from unwanted pregnancy.

Now, you can expect your period to be a little strange with your next cycle or two.   Irregularity and irregular bleeding is very common.

Let me know if you have any other questions hon.  Do buy some condoms or think about the pill for the future to help protect yourself from a situation you don't want to be in.  good luck hon.

If you don't want to get pregnant then don't have unprotected sex. Even when you do use protection no birth control method works 100% of the time so there's a possibility you could get pregnant

It all depends on your ovulation cycle if you are close to ovulation and had unprotected sex the provability of plan b working even then is not all that good. But yeah i recommend not having unprotected sex, not only could you get pregnant without wanting to buy there is a risk for STDs. Good luck.
