i was on mirena for two years, at first its very irregular and gives you cramps, but once you pass that your period should disappear completely (atleast mine did) along with my cramps, best form of birth control i have ever taken.

What you are having is metrorrhagia and IUD’s are an important cause of metrorrhagia. To decrease bleeding you can get prescribed Tranexemic acid from your doctor or progestogen to stop bleeding. Also you may need to get the IUD removed if it is the culprit.
