I've been on a low-dose birth control for almost four months. I understand that my body can still be adjusting to it, but it feels like it finally has. All of the wonky symptoms associated with adjusting to the hormones have gone away (breakthrough bleeding and whatnot) and now I have a new, startling symptom that I've never had before.
For days on end, there has been a horrible burning at the entrance of my vagina when touched/penetrated. If I wipe, I'll hurt myself. If I have sex, it hurts terribly. Lubrication isn't the issue as I'm still naturally wet, there's just a band/muscle at the bottom of the entrance that hurts excruciatingly when interacted with. Excessive lubrication is the only way I can stomach sex and it's still unbearable.
It's NOT a yeast infection or UTI -- I've had these both and this is totally different. There're no weird odors or funky discharge either. It's purely a physical reaction. It feels like I haven't reached maturity down there, is the best way I can describe it.
I should be bugging my Gynecologist about this, but I really don't want to have to switch to another birth control and go through this nonsense all over again. I don't even want to be on birth control, but I have to take it for my Endometriosis pain.
Are my estrogen levels so lowered that I'm losing functionality or is there another explanation? Looking this up on the internet has been fruitless.
