Is it bad for a woman to take birth control pills for too long?

Does it has any side effect?

I was on BC pills for 9 years doc said it has no effects

Altering the chemistry of a healthy body will always have side effects. In addition to the more publicized side effects, birth control pills can cause the overproduction  of Candida albicans, a yeast that develops into a fungus under favorable conditions (favorable to candida, that is).
