Long Periods.

Hi there,

About a month and half ago my gynecologist prescribed me Seasonique as a way to treat my heavy periods. She explained that I would only have a period every 3 months and when i did have a period it would be light and only for a few days. Two weeks ago i started spotting but i figured that was normal and to be expected but it started to get heavier like a regular period. So basically i've had a period for over 2 weeks now. I'm really starting to get worried. It doesnt seem like its going to stop anytime soon either.

Another thing, along with this i've broken out in a rash on my vaginal area, it starts low towards my butt and moves upward toward my labia. Its very itchy and inflamed. I'm wondering if wearing pads for 2 weeks straight has caused an allergic reaction?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I called my gyno she suggested that i stop the birth control for 3 days to give my body a break from the hormone. She also said that this happens when your body is becoming acustomed to the pill. I also put some neosporin on the rash and its gone down completely. Must have been just irritation.

I would contact your doctor about the heavy bleeding for so long I would also switch pads to something else and try to put some kind of rash cream on the inflamed areas
