Is it normal to start your period a week early while on birth control

I've been on Sprintec birth control for 6 months and never had this problem till now.
I have always started my period 3 days after I started taking the white pill. Right now I'm on the last week of my blue pills and I've started cramping and spotting a little. I'm not sure if it's normal or not to start your period a week early while on birth control or not because it's never happened to me until now. Just let me know if any of you have had the same thing happen and if that's normal or not. I would really appreciate it, thank you.
