true but take folic acid or some supplement , also if your sick it may take an effect on the pill

in a simple explanation....Yes, because you aren't taking anything that can prevent ovulation from happening (which is how the pill works) so by stopping taking the pill...your body is going to start to get back to a regular normal cycle and if you are not using any form of birth control...you do risk the chance of becoming pregnant.

True. Why? Short answer = hormones! Age, length of time on birth control, TYPE of birth control, etc. all play a role in the scientific reasoning. If you want the med school answer, reply with some details and I will bore you with the answer ;)
