Can a relationship with a BPD go backwards ?

Our relation started oddly. She was a part time hooker and I was her customer. I saw her like this for months. We developed a friendship and started hanging out and I continued to pay her whenever we had sex. She  became dependent on my advice and help - I am 30 years her senior. A few weeks ago, she told me she  had fallen in love with me and immediately started acting out with suicide threats, cutting, outbursts etc.
I'm not so in love with her that I want to hang on much longer through this. Last nite, we discussed the possibility of returning to a friendship/business arrangement like it was before. She acknowledges she goes nuts in emotionally charged relationships. I could do it, but my question is, can she ? and would this end her violent outbursts and self harm ?
