How to act toward someone im interested in?

I'm a 33 year old feminine lesbian. I've had a few failed relationships, none of which have lasted for more than ten months. I battle to just be "normal" with the other person... I'm always worrying about them losing interest or leaving me for someone else. As a result I end up being clingy and needy and emotional all the time and they end up leaving me anyway. Any thoughts from one BPD to another?
