enlarged pituitary gland

mri report states:  enlarged pituitary gland superior border is convex (?) and displacing the pituitary stalk cephalad.  stalk itself is normal.
diffusely enlarged gland showing homogeneous enchancement (?) most likely pituitary hyperplasia or
macroadenoma or lymphocytic hypophysitis

this is of a 14 yr. old menustraing female.  symptoms are severe headaches for 5 wks. wakens @ night and this past week seeing white circles 3 - 5 " on wall.  today vomited, previously perfectly healthy & normal growth chart

concerned mom - have appts in 1 1/2 wks. with neurosurgeron & endocronologist

Dear LmjMartin

During adolescence the pituitary gland can normally increase in size due to all the hormones that it produces.
The hormones need to be checked in order to evaluate the presence of any abnormality.
