new to this site....had a mri that said!!!

i recently had a MRI that says.  On the FLAIR sequences,.near the vertex just to the left of midline, there is a focus of abnormal signal measuring 15-mm. this could represent a meningioma. what does this mean in lamens terms?  ON impression it says probable extraaxial lesion near the vertex incompletely imaged on flair sequences. Could you please tell me what this means....

Meningiomas are benign tumors that grow from the lining around the brain. If they are small, as your case, and not causing symptoms, usually we observe them. Surgery can then be done for removal if they grow or cause trouble.
