16 years old... can i have breast cancer?

so i was feeling my breasts cause it has been hurting for a couple of days and i felt something hard on the top and towards my armpit on my left breast... i have it on my right breast but the pain isnt as bad... it hurts when i lift my arms and put pressure on the area and it feels like its a hard ball in my left breast... could it be breast cancer?

Hi,

Pain in the breast is more commonly associated with non-cancerous(benign) changes than cancerous changes. Also if one has equal discomfort in both breasts then it is more likely benign. On thge other hand, new and persistent discomfort greater in one breast than the other may be of concern. An examination and some tests with the doctor are required to get to a diagnosis. Its better to be safe and therefore you should get the 'hard ball' examined by a doctor. The doctor may also advise you an X ray (mammogram) and/or an ultrasound to ascertain the cause.
