A couple of points .... an excisional biopsy would not necessarily mean that it was "all out" ... it would have to be determined by Pathological examination of the tissue that clean margins were obtained. The results of the stereotactic biopsy wouldn't usually come back questionable .... either benign or malignant. With a recommendation of biopsy (BIRADS 4) I would NEVER wait 6 months .... if that were appropriate under the circumstances then the BIRADS score would have been a 3. You must be quite a gambler .... I think you should give this some serious thought before doing nothing. Regards ....
Right now they have recommended a stereotactical biopsy. But quite honestly not interested in second procedure if results comeback questionable. Leanng toward excisional - then its out.
Have also not ruled out waiting 6 months and then more immaging to check status of the new area.
Mammogram is the first line in imagery ... ultrasound shows different things than Mammogram. If a mass was found on any type of test that cannot be identified then a biopsy is necesary. Evidently the mass was still visible with the additional views and definitely needs to be investigated. All the tests are used together to complete the picture. Please proceed as recommended with the biopsy. Regards .....
