Breast Cancer Symptoms

I have 3 lumps on my right breast, pain in my right breast, armpit, and between my shoulder blades exactly opposite of my right breast. I explained all of this to my Dr. he then performs his exam and quickly says you have cellulitis. Gave me Cipro and a fungal cream. For my peace of mind, he ordered a routine Mammogram and chest Xray. After voicing my concerns at the imaging office, they changed the order with the Drs. permission to a Diagnostic mammogram, plus an Ultrasound. Both tests show NO abnormalities. I've read online that Mammograms and Ultrasounds missed Cancer in about 10% of patients. The pain is constant and the lumps are not getting any smaller. I had Thyroid Cancer in 2001 and the Doctor insisted that was a cyst. Since antibiotics didn't shrink the (cyst), he removed it and found it was a cancerous tumor. What is my next step to make certain my pain and lumps are not Breast Cancer since the mammogram and Ultrasound show negative? Can I request a Biopsy and if so what kind of Dr would I see?

My sister-in-law who at the time was 32 years old, found a lump in her left breast. Ultrasound showed that it was a 1.1 cm cyst. Doc said to her not to worry. 18 mths later the lump was bigger, she felt another one in her armpit and started bleeding from her nipple. What showed to be a cyst on an ultrasound turned out to be a very aggressive breast cancer that resulted in a double mastectomy, aggressive chemo and radiation. Al
ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS when u find a lump no matter what the mammogram or ultrasound always ask for it to be biopsied

Thank you for your response. I was on the antibiotics for 10 days. I have a follow up with my GYN Dr, however I am going to pick up the test from the hospital and follow up with a Breast Specialist to make double certain. I appreciate you taking the time to read my concern and giving your advice. God bless

I doubt you could get a biopsy ordered with negative Mammogram & Ultrasound. First I would get an appointment with a Breast Specialist ... this might lead to further investigation (Breast MRI) and then maybe a biopsy IF it is indicated. The symptoms you describe don't suggest Breast Cancer to me but all I have is what you have posted. You say that neither test showed anything but I'm sure the report contained something other than no abnormalities such as some description of the lumps and what they represent. When You see a Breast Specialist you should be sure that he/she has your films to review and not just the reports. You don't state how long you were on the drugs prescribed ... at times cellulitis is difficult to treat and the first choice of drug might not be effective. I can see your concern since somthing was missed in the past. Get that appointment with the Breast Specialist and go from there. Regards ....
