No Follow-up for Breast Lump

I do regular BSEs and discovered a lump in my right breast.
I received a referral for a Diagnostic Mammogram and received the Mammogram along with a Ultrasound of the lump.
Afterwards, I received the standard follow-up recommendation sheet from the technician stating that the results showed no suspicious findings for cancer and to follow-up in One Year.

Shouldn't I also have received some sort of explanation as to what the lump is that I feel (even if it is benign)?
Also, I am not comfortable with the recommendation for following up in a year.

Am I panicing? My mom died from breast cancer at age 49 and I am 45.

That type of drive through mammograms is highly insulting to any woman it's happened to! The doctor that ordered the mammy and US needs to get the official report and go over it with you.

Also, you should speak with a genetic counselor who is BRCA savvy about the possiblilty of getting a blood test to see if you have the mutation.

Best wishes.

I'm sure your prescribing Physician has the full and final report from the Radiologist. You should call his/her office and either ask for an explanation or a copy. The explanation is best as there may be medical terminology that you wouldn't be expected to understand completely. What you receive from the tech. means nothing as far as the actual report is concerned.  Regards ....
