Yes, be patient--as hard as that can be!  My last chemo was July 17th and I am just now able to go without a hat or a scarf.  My hair is still very short but I can finally do something with it.  On average, my hair is probably about 2 inches long but the crown area is still quite a bit shorter.  It does come back unevenly but your bald spots will most likely fill in.  My hair came back in very thick and wavy but I'm sure that will also change.  The natural color stayed the same but I did have some hair that came in white (not gray) and then changed to brown as it grew so if I plucked them they would look half white and half brown.  It was a bit odd but I'm hoping that the plucked hairs will come back in brown.  Congrats on finishing the chemo!

You are just being impatient.  It was 5 months after I completed my last chemo before I was able to go without a wig or cap.  I, too, thought my hair was growing in some places and not in others.  Eventually it all grew in.  It's kind of like the grass in your yard.  It all grows together with time.  However, be prepared for your hair to be different.  Mine came back in very curly and much finer than it had been before.  Eventually the curl went away, but my hair is still finer and thinner than it was before I had chemo.  I had to adapt to new ways of styling my hair, but at least I have it!  Everyone is different, but hopefully my experience will give you some insight.
