Bleeding from Nipple

During a shower, my right breast began bleeding.  Any thoughts?

I've called my doctor but he is out for the next few days.  Should I wait?

Thanks.

Follow up testing revealed Papillomatosis.  I have hundreds of papillomas in both breasts.

Thanks for responding to my original post.

Hi,

This is possible. But its important to be aware about it and report any other signs such as lumps or skin changes or nipple discharge to your doctor .

You could also talk to him/her about getting a repeat mammogram in case you are still in doubt.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions or queries.

Regards.

Hi,

Is your nipple still bleeding? Was it bright red or dark in colour? Have you noticed any other symptoms like a breast lump, skin changes or nipple discharge on breast self examination?

Do you remember any trauma or injury to the site?

You should go to the ER if you still have the bleeding. If the bleeding was a single episode you could wait for a few days till your doctor comes back.

Let us know how you are doing and also if you have any other doubts.

Keep us posted about what your doctor advises.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
