Blood from breasts?

Hey, my mum recently told me that blood could be squeezed out of her breasts? What is this a sign of? please help? im very worried? I just want to know what it is and what course of action should i take?

Bloody discharge from the nipple can be associated with many different conditions.Most often it could be an intraductal papilloma which is a noncancerous tumor.
Also,the bleeding can happen from inflammation in the ducts, reaction to drugs, dilatation of the mammary ducts(duct ectasia), and less commonly a cancerous tumor.The bloody discharge must be examined under the microscope(called cytological examination) for a diagnosis So please tell your mom,first of all,not to squeeze the nipples,because the more the nipples are stimulated the more the discharge will continue.and  to see her physician as soon as possible to have diagnostic tests done. Cytology is definitely recommended when the discharge from the nipple is bloody.
