Breast cancer

My mother past away at 53 from breasted cancer..her mother past away from breast cancer all the women. On onlygrandmas side of the family has had breasted cancer. I'm now 49 went in for my mammo and they found a place in my left breasted( deep central asymmetry) with a BI - rad of 3 they think I'm not sure about is they cant see the back part. They did an ultrasound and said they couldn't find it..what sound my next step be? I go back in Feb. For anther mammo.

Yes....I. will let you know..thank you once again..I thought I knew so much because of my mom and grandma.but I guess I don't know as much as I thought.I just want to stay on top off things. Its funny they way I just take what they say. And really don't go any further with questions. Once again japdip thank you for the advice.

Well, perhaps a needle type biopsy couldn't be done at that time but there are other types and certainly no matter the location some type of biopsy can be done if it is necessary. I'll be anxious to hear your results from the Feb. films.   Regards ....

He said it was so far back that they couldn't do a biopsy. I'm just uncertain what to do.but I will go back in Feb. And see what he says..thank you so much for the advice.

You should have the repeat Mammogram as scheduled in Feb. Since the finding was scored BIRADS 3 evidently the Radiologist didn't think a biopsy was in order at this time. If there isn't any definite determination in Feb. on the films you may want to ask about having a Breast MRI which is a more sensitive type of test. With your family history you need to be monitored very closely in the future. Regards ....
