Thanks my breast specialist is out of the country so I do not know when or what she will suggest. Since it has been two weeks I am no longer nervous about it. I am having chemo every month and AMG 386 every week so that should slow it if it is Cancer.

Hi,
There are different types of biopsies, but generally they are almost all the same... except for an excisional biopsy ,where suspicious lumps may be surgically removed.
Usually patients are not given general anesthesia for a biopsy, because the region is numbed using a local anesthetic.
The procedure doesn't take more than an hour from start to to finish. You may have a little discomfort, but most women report no pain and no scarring on the breast.
I hope this helps.. I wish you all the best and benign results!
