Bulb drainage increase

I had mastectomy almost 3 weeks ago. Last night drainage increased from aprox 25 cc every 6-8 to 90 cc in 5 hours then 50 in the next 5 hours. what causes this and should i call my dr?

I find it rather unusual to still have your drains in at 3 weeks post-op but I would certainly advise you to contact your Surgeon regarding the increased drainage. I would also ask how long he/she intends to leave the drains in place. I don't recall having that amount of drainage in 12 hours or less and my drains were removed at about a week or so.  Regards .....
