My mother has no. of medical problems including diabetes as I stated before now her MammogRAPHY is done and the report is as folows:

MAMMOGRAPHY LEFT SIDE

A well defined opacity seen in left breast upper outer quadrant. Margins are well circumscribed and reveals gentle lobulations. No infiltration seen into surrounding parenchyma. No calcification noted within the lesion. Concomitant ultrasound done that shows a well-defined cystic lesion with small soft tissue component in it.

Few rounded widely spaced bening looking calcifications are seen in the central part of left breast.

No overlaying skin thicking or nipple retraction noted.

No evidence of lymphadenopathy in left axilla.

IMPRESSION:

Birad's Category I examination.
Aspiration is recommended for further evaluation.

Please advice if there are any oter options are available or what would be best in her intrest.

I'm not sure what type of options you are asking about. The report indicates that this is a benign cyst. The only option I can see would be to just leave it alone. The aspiration would not be more than sticking a small needle in the cyst and removing the fluid within the capsule. If this cyst is causing her no discomfort it could be left as is but I would discuss this with her personal Physician before deciding against aspiration. Regards .....
