hey,
thank you for the reply.. I did Mammogram 2 years before, I was then 26 years when I was first detected with DCIS.. so I didnt want to do a mammogram again, when I turn 50 i would have done atleast quite some mammogram which would accelarate BC. the best way to detect DCIS is by MRI rather than Mammogram as it can detect only calcifications and MRI is sensitive for very ealry forms of cancer...
As per the radiologist as the contrast was only 50% he told itz not at all dangerous but have to be vigilant with regular examinations.... so I am bit bothered...this year I had a baby.. the changes in the breast could be also due to this...
First of all I'm curious why you would be having such a sensitive test as a screening exam. If there is some particular reason I suppose it's OK but this is more or less a "last resort" type of imagery in my book. What's wrong with Mammogram and Ultrasound for screening; this is the normal recommendation in most cases.
A high contrast area can be most anything, especially with MRI so I hope you are being followed now and whatever is recommended next will be done to alleviate your concerns regarding DCIS in the remaining breast which I believe would be fairly rare but of course possible. Regards ....
