Hi,
What BIRADS category has been given by the radiologist? What does your doctor advise you? Does he agree with the radiologist?
Well, if you are not convinced, you need to relax and talk to your doctor about it. Discuss your doubts with him/her in detail.
The best option would be to ask your doctor about a needle aspiration or fine needle aspiration cytology - which is a safe, minimally invasive, not very painful OPD procedure.
This will probably give a more confirmed diagnosis. Do let us know what your advises.
Hope this helps.
Good luck..
I am 44, I have no history of bc in my family, I was just diagnosed with pleomorphic calcifications, BIRAD 4, recommended biopsy; I do not think that you should wait unless they can explain what type of calcifications you have; you can look at all of them on line, do a search on calcifications, they should you what they all look like and explain the differences. I did a similar search and did not know what type of cluster calcifications I had until after I researched them and picked up my films to take to the breast surgeon for a biopsy which is scheduled for the 10th. There are some calcifications that do not have a recommendation of biopsy, so see if you can get a diagnosis of what type of calcifications you have. I wish you the best, please keep me posted.
